CARRY WEIGHTS FOR EACH CAMERA STRAP PAD
Each pad has a “most comfortable” camera + lens carry weight.
This is NOT the maximum carry weight.
The military quick release is rated at 300 lbs. The web is rated at over 1000 lbs.
Never a failure in over ten years!
I do suggest that if you use a lens over 4lbs + and pro body that you choose the 6.6 web over the Vectran cord. The photos show a Nikon 70-200mm 2.8. There is no reported failure but if it were my camera and lens pick the web version. The rings or your shoulder will pop before this strap will break.
Note that the KIS “Keep It Simple” does NOT have a pad. It is good to keep in the car. You might leave the strap with pad in the hotel, bar or in the woods.

The most comfortable carry weight of the X Pad is 2.5 lbs. for camera + lens.
Your shoulder will feel “fine” at 3.5 lbs. but not as “fine” as the Mountain pad. The military quick release is rated at 90 lbs. The Vectran cord is NOT string. It is custom made and rated at over 1000 lbs. The Vectran cord connection to the release is rated at about 50 lbs. The web camera connection is 75 lbs.
The camera rings or your shoulder will probably give out before this release system. The photo shows the X with the Vectran cord camera attachments (ends) that are easy on/off. The 6.6 web is stronger. If your “normal” carry is 2-6 lbs. Then the Vectran cord is fine. If you do attach a 70-200mm 2.8 or heavier then the web is the safe bet. Never a failure either way - but why even think about it?
The reality is if you are carrying a camera plus lens that weighs over 4 lbs. you’re shoulder will feel it no matter what strap you use. Any camera strap!
Obviously this “comfort” issue has a lot to do with age, health etc. Most of us sit in roughly the same boat. If your stronger and younger you may want to use a smaller strap pad. It’s all about comfort for the average Joe.
